In the 1870s Cerne Abbas boasted 13 pubs and a prosperous brewing business - aided by the extensive malting that took place in the village.
Wancombe Cottage and the other cottages in the row are restored from and built upon the site of a former maltings.
The thatched cottage seen from the second bedroom was once the Union Arms, which closed in 1928.
Nowadays, brewing and malting industries has long ceased although Cerne Abbas still has three pubs - The Royal Oak, The New Inn and The Giant.
